Current Opportunities

Fractional Digital Marketing Manager

This role is currently open to Indiana-based candidates only.

Polished Strategic Communications is a strategic communications agency serving clients across nonprofit, economic development, professional services, and community-focused industries.

We're looking for a hands-on marketer who enjoys both strategy and execution. You'll spend most of your time helping us deliver excellent work for clients through email marketing, social media, and project coordination, while also serving as a trusted client-focused thought partner as our agency grows.

This is not a pure account management role, and it's not a pure production role.

We're looking for someone who can think strategically, execute confidently, and help ensure our clients receive exceptional service and results.

This role starts at approximately eight (8) hours per week and is ideal for someone building their own consulting or fractional practice who wants a consistent, collaborative partnership with an established agency.

What You'll Own

Primary Responsibilities (70%)

  • Email marketing strategy and execution

  • Develop and execute email marketing campaigns aligned with client goals, audience needs, and overall communications strategy.

  • Draft, edit, build, schedule, and deploy email communications that reflect the professionalism, quality, and attention to detail clients expect from Polished.

  • Assist in building and managing editorial calendars, campaign timelines, and approval processes to ensure consistent and timely delivery.

  • Collaborate with clients and internal team members to gather content, refine messaging, and drive campaigns from concept to completion.

Social Media Planning & Production

  • Assist in developing content plans and own posting schedules aligned with client objectives, brand voice, and broader marketing priorities.

  • Produce engaging, strategic social media content that supports client goals and strengthens audience engagement.

  • Coordinate production assets and creative development, working alongside junior production resources to ensure high-quality execution.

  • Maintain content calendars and proactively manage deadlines, approvals, and deliverables across multiple accounts.

Analytics & Optimization

  • Monitor email and social media performance, including engagement, reach, audience growth, conversions, and other relevant campaign metrics.

  • Analyze results to identify trends, audience insights, and opportunities to improve performance across channels.

  • Develop concise, client-facing reports that translate data into meaningful business insights and recommendations.

  • Proactively recommend content, messaging, segmentation, and campaign optimizations that improve results over time.

Secondary Responsibilities (30%)

Client Service & Relationship Support

  • Participate in select client meetings

  • Serve as a day-to-day contact for assigned projects

  • Follow up on action items and client requests

  • Help maintain a responsive client experience

Strategic Thinking & Agency Support

  • Identify opportunities to improve client results

  • Recommend ideas for expanding services within existing accounts

  • Help improve internal processes and workflows

  • Serve as a collaborative sounding board on client strategy and agency growth

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 90 days:

  • Email marketing programs are running consistently and proactively.

  • Social media content is organized, planned, and delivered on time.

  • Clients feel supported and informed.

  • Junior production resources have clear direction and oversight.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of post-graduation experience in digital marketing, communications, or agency environments (active students not eligible for consideration)

  • Experience developing and executing digital marketing campaigns

  • Strong writing, editing, and content planning skills

  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Strong client communication and relationship management skills

  • Comfortable working in collaborative, fast-moving environments

Nice-to-Haves

  • Previous agency experience

  • Experience supporting nonprofit, association, economic development, or professional services clients

  • Familiarity with ClickUp or similar project management platforms

  • Experience coordinating freelance or junior production resources

  • Experience building your own consulting, freelance, or fractional practice

Compensation & Structure

  • Approximately 8 hours per week to start

  • Contractor/fractional engagement

  • Target budget: approximately $50/hour

  • Opportunity to expand hours and responsibilities over time based on agency growth and mutual fit.
